Our non-profit society „ENvironmental EDucation And Science (ENEDAS)" is, above all, active in the fields of environmental education and research.

In the present time there is a growing necessity to raise society's awareness for environmentally relevant issues. This includes not only topics of local interest, but also supraregional questions. We want to meet this need for information with exhibitions, presentations, workshops, seminars, educational trips, excursions, the establishment of nature trails and much more. Since the majority of the founder members have a bioscientific background, we are able to pass on sound knowledge to people who are interested in this field. We offer events for people of all age groups, starting with walks through forests and meadows for groups of children to nature afternoons for senior citizens. Our spread of issues is just as broad, reaching from the riparian forest of Leipzig to tropical habitats. Biodiversity, environmental protection, and ecology of distinct habitats constitute the main focus of our work.

An extensive knowledge of nature and ecology is the basis for modern nature conservation. To lay these foundations and gain new insights, we want to do active research in the field of ecology and support other research projects. These latest findings shall be used to develop innovative ways of thinking necessary for a modern nature conservation management.
